Summer at Yoma !

We have had an incredibly fun and productive Louis, at 12, had declared that during his summer visit from Colombe, FR (near Paris) to visit his American family, he would like to work at Yoma Textiles! We are hopeful he will spearhead the Yoma Paris office upon his return! Casey is joining us on her summer break from Wake Forest University, and will be resuming her education this fall in Sienna, Italy! Best Wishes to you both and Thank You for joining us!

Bike to Beat Epilepsy, a great success

The October 2nd charity bike ride, for which Yoma Textiles was a sponsor, was a fantastic success. It was a beautiful Fall day, with 35 bikers and 5 skateboarders who made it the 8 miles around Swartswood Lake, NJ. The event raised over $5000 for the Epilepsy Foundation of NJ. The ride was in memory of Shawn Danesi, a family and friend of Yoma Textiles who passed away suddenly in 2006 from a seizure. Thanks to all of the supporters and riders!!!

Bike to Beat Epilepsy: Shawn Danesi Memorial Ride.
A 7-3/4 mile fundraising bike ride to benefit the Epilepsy Foundation of NJ.
The ride was organized in memory of Shawn Danesi, sister of Mandi Danesi of Yoma Textiles

The ride will take place on this Saturday, October 2nd. I, Mandi, will be skating (on a longboard!) the 7-3/4 miles. Please wish me luck!
Yoma Textiles has donated as a corporate sponsor and will be riding on the Yoma team.

We know it is important to make sustainability information as clear as possible. We have put together a 2-page matrix that explains the sustainability of all our green product (click on the above photos for a readable and printable image). There are two main categories: Rapidly Renewable (and Natural) and Sustainable Manufacturing. Page 1 focuses on those natural products while the 2nd page explains what makes those other fabrics environmentally conscious. Also please notice the two different types of leaf symbols: The leaf that is a green outline goes on the sample tags of our natural fabrics, while the solid green leaf will be found on the sample tags for these other patterns. Green Story in Boutique Design Mag

YOMA's solution dyed and recyclable pattern, Matsu, has been featured in the new issue of Boutique Design. The issue focuses on the continuation of the green movement. We are happy they also mention the recycled polyester content of Mockingbird.

We have introduced you to Marseilles, and we have gotten a great response from you! It is now our pleasure to announce that this product, of Sunbrella Acrylic yarns, is now able to be recycled! Veranda April 2009 - Featuring Betty Burgess & Yoma

One of our great clients in Atlanta has had the immense honor of a cover story in this month's Veranda magazine. Betty Burgess has transformed a 1950's Paris inspired home for a modern growing family while honoring the French roots. Burgess' stunning design includes a master bedroom that she chose to dress entirely in our Mockingbird, color STONE. The room is covered in our faux suede, from the drapery, to the wall upholstery, to the custom bedding including headboard and bedskirt. The luxurious treatment can be seen in the middle photo. Betty also used our Savanna, color SABLE for the bench seen in the bottom photo above. Congrats to you Betty, what a Beautiful job!

Always willing to reach out to the design community, YOMA has donated several colorways of our taffeta, IRISE, and our silk blend CADEAUX a to design firm ADD INC, in partnership with Repsource, our New England representative. The fabrics were used to create fantastic creations that celebrate the union of our industry with the fashion world.
